Hattie's Cancer Journey

My daughter Hattie was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called botryoid rhabdomyosarcoma in July 2013 when she was 16 months old. After about a year and a half of chemotherapy, radiation and multiple surgeries, she was declared cancer free in December 2014. I'm posting a photo and short reflection every day in 2015 to celebrate the end of treatment and reflect on the journey.

36. 8/28/2013 - A long day with some silliness.

The overnight hydration ended up working pretty well, though we didn't get much sleep. The next day was long. Hattie just wanted to move around and we had to chase after her with the hydration pack until the afternoon. Everyone was a bit loopy and we were able to have some fun making silly faces. We were all very relieved when hydration was finished so we could get some well earned rest.
